My name is Jose Alvarez and I have been a writer, journalist and blogger since August 2006. I am a graduate of Saint Mary’s College of California, Class of 2010. I have a bachelor’s degree in Communication with a focus on journalism. I currently reside in the Las Vegas, NV area.
I was born on September 20, 1988 in Daly City, California, USA. I am a San Francisco Bay Area native. I have also lived in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area in Texas as well as Manila, Philippines. I went to school in Bacolod, Philippines in my childhood for two years, and I returned to work there in 2012, when I worked for two years as a staff writer and reporter for Gadgets Magazine.
In addition to writing, I am a very voracious reader and researcher. I read daily about current events, history, politics, entertainment, and other subjects as well. I believe strongly that a well-informed person is someone you would like to have on your side.
I am also a huge fan of shows such as Dragon Ball Z, South Park, and Bob’s Burgers. I also watch a lot of movies (primarily comedy movies) as well as documentaries and movies based on a true story. I am also a bit of a foodie (although not Anthony Bourdain-level serious about it).
I am also a sports fan. My favorite teams are the Oakland Raiders, Oakland A’s, Golden State Warriors, San Jose Sharks, and FC Barcelona (the above picture is me at the Camp Nou in October 2015).
I currently run and lead a guild in World of Warcraft called which is comprised of 400+ members. It is a raiding guild, but also a place for people who enjoy the game to hang out and have fun.
